The Yamuna River flows through the heart of New Delhi.
Along its banks, lies a vast floodplain stretching for dozens of kilometers.
Day labourers, homeless people, outcasts, marginalized people, ascetics, and farmers from India’s poorest regions eke out a living there.
But today, these lands are coveted.
For decades, Augustin Ghadge has been diving into the black, polluted waters.
He opens the door to a world that is disappearing.
